October 10, 2020: World Mental Health Day

Did you know that the World Health Organization is celebrating World Mental Health Day this Saturday, October 10?
This year, the slogan chosen for this world day is Act for mental health: invest!

Indeed, the pandemic linked to COVID-19 has seriously highlighted the need to ensure that all mental health services are not only strong enough to provide care otherwise when it is impossible to reach the health centers, but also to provide support to a greater number of people. A commitment to investment is needed, with positive consequences that go far beyond public health, said Dévora Kestel, Director of the Department of Mental Health and Substance Use at WHO.

This year, in a context of a health crisis and to involve more and more people, the WHO invites us to attend the “Grand Rendez-vous de la Santé Mentale”, broadcast online from 4 pm to 7 pm on its Facebook accounts, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube and TikTok, as well as on the WHO website.

At this event, world leaders, experts and celebrities will join Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to tell the world what can be done collectively to improve mental health and help deliver care quality mental health to all who need it.
