Doctor of Political Science, Marina Casula is Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Toulouse 1 Capitole, and member of IDETCOM.

She was coordinator of the “Aging, Quality of Life and Handicap” Axis of the MSHS-Toulouse from 2011 to 2018 and is educational manager of the M1 Economic and Social Sciences, “Engineering of territorial development” course, at UT1 -Capitol.

She participates in interdisciplinary work related to enabling environments and socio-technical devices aimed at promoting quality of life and maintaining sociability with advancing age. In particular, on the challenges of social innovation to meet the challenges of aging (program AGIR, Ag, Social Innovation and Reflexivity, participatory action research with an interdisciplinary group of researchers and seniors) in the territory of the Toulouse conurbation . She participated in the development of a collaborative and participative methodology, based on the empowerment of people, mutual aid and do it yourself. She also works on the question of the (sustainable) development of territories, particularly island regions, in a complex approach.
