David Vavassori is Professor of Universities in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology, member of the Laboratory of Psychopathological and Intercultural Clinics (LCPI – EA4591), he is also co-director of the Center for Criminology and Human Sciences (CCSH – https: //lcpi.univ- tlse2.fr) and since September 2017, co-manager of the CNRS immaterial expertise platform: “Radicalities and Regulations” – of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société (MSHS https: //radicalite.hypotheses. org). His research work revolves around 2 axes:
– Basic research in clinical psychopathology based on the study of intrapsychic, intersubjective processes and life history. Examples of themes developed: addiction and its contemporary expressions: alcoholism, drug addiction, pathological gambling, cyber-dependence; the transition to ideological action in adolescents and young adults; multidisciplinary clinic and professional interculturation;
– Multidisciplinary action research responding to social demands. Examples of themes developed: the interdisciplinary assessment of dangerousness; domestic and intra-family violence; radicals and regulations; psychology and archeology.

He is also a clinical psychologist in the socio-judicial field, he worked for several years in a penitentiary establishment for minors.
